The Stopgap office could easily be mistaken for a hospital ward this morning, with staff hobbling around to a cacophony of moans and groans! Today is the morning after our (in)famous 17 for 17 event, in which we walked 17 miles along the River Thames to raise money for our 17th birthday…
That’s right; we decided to celebrate 17 years of Stopgap by donning our walking boots and hiking 17 miles in order to raise money for The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award. We had perfect weather on the day and enjoyed some incredible scenery along the way. The day was a runaway success, with everyone completing the walk, despite blisters, aches and pains!
The total walked on the day came to an incredible 850 miles, or for those who prefer metric, 1368 km! This staggering achievement was all in order to raise money for The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award – we’re still collecting the last few pounds as we aim to reach our £5,000 target – if you haven’t yet had the chance to donate, don’t worry, there’s still time!
